HELLO!
Welcome to Arboreal, a multi-sensory interactive experience in an enchanted forest.
An Enchanted Forest
Arboreal celebrates exploration, cooperation, creativity, and play. It features many creatures each with their own personality, that come to life through visitor interactions.
The Arboreal Experience
Arboreal is made up of seven interactive experiences, projected on the walls and floor. Each experience has its own sound effects, and interactions. Arboreal is truly enveloping, a feast for the eyes and ears. Scroll down to learn about each experience.
The Crystal Cave
Three walls are covered by projections of a cave. Stalactites and stalagmites are along the walls, each with their own interactive surface. They can be used like an 808 drum machine, to create beats. There are also glowing mushrooms that, when touched, trigger melodic notes.
Melody Marsh
A two-player memory game, Melody Marsh consists of a physical stomp pads and a two-projector stitched environment. Frog-like creatures jump on colored lily pads in a randomized sequence. Stepping on the colored pads in the same sequence wins the round.
Forest Pinball
Two-player pinball, controlled using force-sensitive stomp pads. Navigate the ball-creature around the forest, bouncing it around and collecting fruits. Once you collect all the fruits on your side of the forest, a celebratory animation plays.
Fireflies
A simpler experience, the Fireflies wall is a chance to take a selfie, or have your picture taken. As you stand in front of the projected forest clearing, fireflies collect, lighting you up.
Glow Worms
Colorful worms follow you around a portion of the ground. As they crawl, they emit otherworldly sounds.
Interactive Field
Several simple experiences populate the Field, each responding to participants’ locations. Trees dance with you, creatures play hide-n-seek, and magical floating jellyfish fly away if you approach.
Feeding Frenzy
Four players stomp pressure-sensitive pads to launch bird-like creatures into the mouths of hungry monsters. Each pad color corresponds with a monster. This experience is particularly open-ended: players can enjoy the kinetic experience, the reward when they feed a monster until it explodes, or make the effort to feed their particular monster.
